Joon Chae Na is a urologist and director of the Jamsil branch of Goldman Urology Clinic. He trained in urology at Severance Hospital and went on to teach in the department of urology at Yonsei University College of Medicine, where his clinical and research work centred on robotic surgery of the kidney and upper urinary tract. He was among the authors of the first reported robotic kidney transplantation in Korea, and of the first Korean report of robotic ureteral reconstruction using the native ureter to treat long-segment stricture of a transplanted kidney. His other published research includes a propensity-matched comparison of single-port and conventional robotic partial nephrectomy in high-complexity tumours, an implantable hydrogel sensor for monitoring overactive bladder, and laboratory work on mitochondrial metabolism and drug resistance in renal cell carcinoma.
