Goldman Urology Clinic announced on the 3rd that it recently introduced 'URO dot AI,' an artificial intelligence (AI) software that automatically analyzes the presence, size, and location of urinary stones based on non-contrast computed tomography (CT) images.

Previously, urology specialists had to interpret CT images of urinary stone patients one by one, which was time-consuming and carried the risk of missing small stones. In contrast, 'URO dot AI' generates results within 5 minutes, simultaneously enhancing both the speed and accuracy of patient care.

In particular, 'URO dot AI' anatomically analyzes the entire urinary tract, including the ureters, kidneys, and bladder, enabling the detection of even small stones less than 4mm that are often difficult to find. Furthermore, it displays the location and size of stones in real-time, which assists in establishing effective treatment plans.

The diagnostic convenience from the patient's perspective is also excellent. Firstly, rapid interpretation allows for quick pain relief in emergency situations. Additionally, by confirming the precise location and size, it reduces unnecessary re-examinations and attempts at urinary stone surgery. Moreover, it can detect even small stones that might be missed in conventional X-ray or ultrasound examinations, thereby enabling earlier diagnosis and treatment.

High performance was also demonstrated in the clinical trials of 'URO dot AI.' In the primary efficacy evaluation, it recorded a sensitivity of 97.89% and a specificity of 94.12%. Subsequently, in the secondary efficacy evaluation, it showed a sensitivity of 98.82% and a specificity of 96.67%. Notably, it demonstrated 100% accuracy in detecting urinary stones with a diameter of 5mm or more.

Above all, 'URO dot AI' holds even greater significance as it was recognized for its safety and effectiveness under the supervision of the Ministry of Health and Welfare and subsequently designated as an innovative medical technology.

A representative from Goldman Urology Clinic stated, "'URO dot AI' is a technology that will bring new diagnostic achievements to the diagnostic process. We will continue to strive to provide patients with even more precise and systematic medical care in the future."
