Min Hospital announced that it recently conducted a clinical observation program for bariatric and metabolic surgery, attended by surgical specialist teams from Saudi Arabia and China.

According to Min Hospital, a delegation of surgeons from Saudi Arabia and China visited the main hospital in Mia-dong, Gangbuk-gu, Seoul. This visit aimed to build a global medical training network and share the hospital's accumulated clinical expertise in bariatric surgery with international peers. This is an extension of Min Hospital's ongoing efforts to standardize surgical techniques centered on patient safety.

The visiting delegation directly observed a SASI (Single Anastomosis Sleeve Ileal Bypass) procedure performed by Director Kim Jong-min. They learned advanced surgical know-how throughout the entire clinical process, from the strict preoperative patient evaluation stage to systematic surgical procedures and complication prevention strategies. It is reported that they showed high interest in the technique's design, which prioritizes patient safety, and the systematic recovery management system after surgery.

Min Hospital has already been recognized for its record as the first in Korea to perform SASI bypass and has been selected as a 'M.A.S.T.E.R. Institute' by Johnson & Johnson MedTech and a 'Certified Bariatric Surgery' hospital by the Korean Society for Metabolic and Bariatric Surgery. Through this, the hospital operates professional bariatric surgery training programs for domestic and international medical staff.

Patient-Centered Comprehensive Care System

Additionally, Min Hospital has established a patient-centered care system where endocrine surgery specialists directly handle the entire process, including diagnosis, testing, surgery, progress observation, and nutrition/lifestyle management. Based on more than 1,500 cumulative clinical experiences in diabetic bariatric and metabolic surgery, they perform customized surgeries that comprehensively consider the patient's constitution, type of diabetes, and pancreatic function status.
