Post-Circumcision Swelling: Understanding the 'Doughnut' Effect During Recovery

I'm 7 days post-circumcision. There's a tube-shaped swelling (like a doughnut) above the suture line. It seems to have decreased slightly, but is it normal for swelling to last this long?

This 'doughnut' swelling is a very common and normal part of the recovery process after circumcision. It occurs as the lymphatic and blood vessels re-establish themselves. Swelling typically peaks between the first and second weeks. As long as the swelling is gradually decreasing and involves no severe pain or heat (signs of infection), you should continue following your post-op care instructions. It will eventually be absorbed by the body.
