When is it safe to masturbate after circumcision (9 days post-surgery)?

At 9 days after circumcision, although the outer wound may appear to be healing, the internal tissues and blood vessels are still in recovery.

Engaging in masturbation or any physical stimulation at this stage—especially before stitch removal—can increase the risk of wound reopening, bleeding, or delayed healing.

In general, it is recommended to wait at least 4 weeks after surgery before resuming masturbation or sexual activity.

Even erections alone can place tension on the surgical site, and premature stimulation may lead to larger scars or prolonged recovery time.

After the stitches are removed, additional time is still needed for the tissue to fully stabilize.
