I have all the symptoms of cystitis and acute pyelonephritis - frequency, urgency, and a tingling sensation.
There's no hematuria, but my lower back feels sore and my abdomen has sharp pains. I also have bloating.
Is bloating also a symptom of cystitis or pyelonephritis????
I originally have mild chronic vaginitis...
It's work-related so I won't go to the emergency room, and there's no nearby hospital, so I'm trying to get through the day with pharmacy medication.
Can I just ask for cystitis medication at the pharmacy?

Hello, this is Dr. Kyung-ho Ryu, a Doctalk-Naver KnowledgeiN consulting physician.
When cystitis or pyelonephritis occurs, the tissue around the bladder is stimulated by inflammation, which can cause abdominal bloating where the belly feels distended.
The sore feeling in your lower back should be examined with the possibility of pyelonephritis in mind. If the inflammation has not stayed as simple cystitis but has risen to the kidneys, lower back pain along with chills or fever may appear. If you develop a fever or the pain worsens, it's good to take appropriate measures before the condition deteriorates.
In situations where pyelonephritis is suspected, rather than simply enduring it with medication alone, I recommend getting examined as soon as possible.
At our urology clinic, based on abundant clinical experience at each branch, we carefully assess each patient's symptoms and health status to make a diagnosis and provide a customized treatment plan accordingly.
Finding the cause is the first step in treatment, so if uncomfortable symptoms persist, I recommend seeing a urologist. I hope this answer helps. Thank you.
